My husband who is Swedish says that he hasn’t seen herring of this quality since the 1960’s in Stockholm! We were buying Abbas; I hope this comes back into stock.

This is probably the best herring that can be found anywhere in North America, very much like the herring I grow up with in Norway (even though this product happens to be Swedish). Let the salted herring soak in fresh water for 2-3 hours and regularly change the water. Serve with boiled potatoes, mashed rutabaga, pickled red beets, raw onion, sour cream, and butter (as appropriate). Even my kids eat this.
